Helen’s Skin Rejuvenation Plan

Posted: Tuesday 21 June 2011 03:27pm

To maximise the results of her Botox and Juvederm filler treatments, New You TV star Helen underwent a series of skin rejuvenation treatments devised by Pure Aesthetics clinical skin therapist Douglas Pereira.

Helen looks years younger and is naturally delighted with the results: “The changes in my skin have been remarkable. It has all made me feel younger. I would tell anyone that investing in yourself is priceless because of how it makes you feel on the inside and out.”

Douglas Pereira details the program he devised for Helen:

“The changes in my skin have been remarkable too. It has all made me feel younger. I would tell anyone that investing in yourself is priceless because of how it makes you feel on the inside and out.”

Helen’s key concerns were”

  • Dryness on cheeks, chin and forehead
  • Light pigmentation scatted around face
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Attention to the first signs of ageing

Course of action

I used a combination therapy treatment of medical Dermaroller skin needling and a Microhydrabrasion treatments

Dead skin cells were removed with a passing of the dry Microhydrabrasion diamond tip, followed by the Dermaroller to better accept the infusion of water in the second half of the Microhydrabrasion treatment. This encourages the skin to produce more of its natural moisturising function.

Treating the skin in this manner is like preparing a wall for a fresh new coat of paint. It’s all in the preparation.

I performed further single 60 minute Microhydrabrasions once a week for five weeks. At the end of this I followed with two more combination therapy treatments at 6-week intervals.

At the end of Helen’s 8-week program her skin had a far more even tone, reduced pigmentation and increased hydration levels, as well as looking much fresher and younger.

This program assisted with stimulation of collagen and elastin production, this being core to reducing, even reversing the ageing of the skin.

Cost of treatments

  • Microhydrabrasion treatments, 60 minutes, $165 each
  • Medical dermaroller skin needling, 60 minutes, $650 each plus post needling home care kit

About Microhydrabrasion

Microhydrabrasion goes beyond standard microdermabrasion by providing simultaneous exfoliation together with topical delivery treatment. It also boasts faster recovery of the skin, superior exfoliation results and better tolerance for dry skins than standard microdermabrasion, giving optimum benefits to patients.

If you have been frustrated by dull, congested, sun-damaged skin, persistent lip lines, open pores, or acne scars, Microhydrabrasion can help you achieve a clearer, naturally beautiful complexion.

Multiple Microhydrabrasion treatments are recommended to produce maximum benefits and encourage continued collagen and elastin regeneration – however, the results of just one 60 minute treatment will leave you with visibly fresher, smoother, glowing skin

About Medical Dermaroller skin needling

Dermaroller™ provides advanced skin micro-surgical needling, a procedure that stimulates the dermis to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, healthier and younger-looking skin.

It is a cylindrical shaped drum studed with very fine needles and works by producing thousands of microscopic needle columns in the dermis to stimulate the skin’s cells to multiply. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of collagen and elastin fibers as well as new capillaries for improved blood supply. This procedure is called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

For Collagen Induction Therapy it is recommend to start with three treatments with a minimum separation time between treatments of 6-8 weeks. To see a permanent improvement by 70 per cent or more with acne scar,  an average of 3-5 procedures is required.
