Our lucky Test Team had a treat and dyed their hair with Nice’n Easy permanent hair colour!
Nice’n Easy is taking its exclusive ColourBlend technology to a new level with Clairol’s research insights and innovative dye technology. The ColourBlend technology was based on the insight that natural hair colour is composed of at least three different tones. It works by blending three different tones in each shade, for natural looking, multi-dimensional results.

It’s been many years since I have used “Nice & Easy”, in fact not since being a teenager have a picked up a box of this brand. Not that there was anything wrong with it I just “moved on”
I tried shade 117D a lovely dark brown shade. About 2 shades darker than my natural colour. I regularly have my hair coloured at the hair dressers and then “top up” at home myself when it starts to fade.
With very long thick hair, according to the instructions I probably should have used two packs but I decided to risk it and as the colour was very thin and easy to apply I had just enough.
Of course, there is no getting away from that horrid hair dye smell but apart from that I really liked the product.
I was also impressed with the amount of after care conditioning treatment supplied (enough for 6 weekly treatments according to the instructions) however it will probably last 4 weeks with my hair but that’s a huge improvement on the tiny bottle that they used to supply many years ago!
Overall, the product was easy to use, with clear instructions, good quality think protective gloves (but not too thick that you can’t feel your hair) and it gave a nice tone to my hair.
Would I recommend Nice & Easy…..yes I would however, I will still get a professional colour at the hairdressers every 6 months but this was a great way to look great and keep the cost down.
Nice & Easy = Exactly that!!
Oh and I must mention that I went out last night and 3 people commented on how shiny my hair was……thanks N& E mwah x

I tried shade 115, away from my usual pick of a redish tone.
I have not used “Nice and Easy” before BUT definately would again.
I have had heaps of comments on how good my hair looks.
It was easy to use and left my hair feeling great.
Didn’t take long to put on and didn’t drip like other hair dyes I have used.
Would have like a comb applicator to put it on my hair – which makes it heaps easier.
The conditioner is great and I would continue to use it as it really helps repair my hair which is usually frizzy.

I have never purchased Nice’n easy before and i must say that i was impressed. I trialled 116A – Natural Light Golden Brown, my natural hair colour is a warm medium brown. The gloves supplied were nice and comfortable, not like the stiff plastic ones other brands supply. I love how the pack had detailed and easy to follow instructions, making it simple for anyone to use. I have very long hair so i was also happy to see that the bottled contained plenty of hair colour because i have used hair dyes before where i have had to buy two packets. The conditioning treatment smells great, makes my hair feel beautiful and soft and it also contains enough to last me the full six weeks, very generous indeed. I love the overall result and i think my hair looks great, i have already recieved compliments. I think this product is a winner and i have already recommended it to family and friends. I will definately purchase this again the next time i colour my hair. Thankyou for introducing me to this fantastic product and allowing me to be in this trial

I am a regular user of Nice and Easy and wanted to go 2 shades lighter. I tested “natural medium Champagne Blonde. I found this shade perfect for my age (43) and skin tone. I found the top ends of my hair slightly lighter than the whole length due to previous colours, but left my hair with a nice sun touched lightness with no brassiness at all. Just blended in with all my other tones. My greys are covered well, I left the colour in for the extended time on stubborn greys. The conditioner provided is beautifully scented and is a good size tube, leaving you hair soft and nourished. The tube is a great size for your over night bag.!
Nice and Easy definitely keeps your colour natural.

Iam always looking to change the colour of my hair to see which colour suits ne. I was pleasently surprised to see the results after using the Clariol Nice’neasy colour-blend technology product. i like the packaging as it has a lot of information regarding using this product, example whether it covers grey hair which im getting a lot of .on the side of the box you can find your shade and see which colour is your own hair will look after applying the dye. I would recommend reading all of the instructions before using this product
After reading the instructions i put on my gloves which are included in the box and proceeded with the hair routine, i found this task very easy, left it in for 20 minutes and then rinsed my hair, at first i thought oh no it;s too dark, however after my hair dried it was a lovely shade of burgundy plus lots of highlights through my hair.
It covered all my grey hairs, which i was very happy with. My hair felt soft and looked shiny and healthy.
There are many shades to choose from i used Natural Burgundy 113.
Iam very happy with the results and would recommend this product to anyone wanting to try a different hair colour and also for anyone who has grey hair coming through, i worked for me.
Thank you very much to Younger you and Nice’n Easy for giving me the opportunity to trial this product.

I am a regular at home colourer and have been since a young age. I found Nice & Easy to be on par with most other at home colourants. Coverage and colour were good and the conditioner worked well. I would certainly purchase this brand in the future, although I don’t think it stood out from any of the other brands on the market.

I’ve never used Nice’n'Easy before, I’ve always tended to go for the brighter packaging colours because they seem more targetted to younger people. Being 38 I guess Im in denial!
I tested natural medium brown. I was pleasantly surprised that my greys were covered really well. I dont have many but I do have a lovely grey patch on my temple forehead on the right and doesn’t matter what colour I use it doesn’t seem to fully cover its as you can see that its a little shinier than the rest and then washes out after two washes & then a lighter patch can be seen & eventually the grey hair is visible again just after two weeks.
Anyway, I did my hair on Saturday night. I have aleady washed my hair twice since then & I’m very surprised that my lovely grey patch is still covered.
I was also inpressed by the gloves, they didnt tear! I always have to be careful as for some reason I manage to tear my gloves.
With hair colours I usually get medium brown but with nice’n'easy, my hair has gone a shade darker than I would of liked it to be but I know for next time to get a lighter shade.
Am very pleased with the outcome, I am also happy to find out that its also cheaper than the one I normally buy so I’ll be saving some dosh.
You see I should never judge a product on its packaging. It’s a nice little surprise.

As I’ve never coloured my hair before,I wanted to thank Younger You for giving me the chance to try colouring my hair with Nice’n Easy permanent hair colour (102) ,which is about 2 shades darker than my natural colour.
I found the packaging very informative, with great instruction on how to use the products. After mixing step 1 and 2 ,the mixture became very thick and was really easy to apply to my hair as I stood looking in the bathroom mirror with a towel draped over my shoulders.I found the smell slightly overbearing for a little while, but that smell went away after I’d covered my dry hair.
After 25 minutes I used a bit of warm water to lather up the Nice’n Easy permanent hair colour, then I rinsed my hair until the water ran clear. Then I used the ColourSeal Intensive Conditioner and left it in for a few minutes, then rinsed.
My hair looked and felt great once it had dryed off.It seemed in better condition than before I coloured. The colour was quite a subtle change for me.No one really noticed the change either as Nice’n Easy permanent hair colour looks really natural and I still had different tones of blonde all over.I may have to be a bit more outrageous with the colouring next time.
I recommend CLAIROL Nice’n Easy to anyone that wants a natural looking change.I will definitely use CLAIROL Nice’n Easy next time I colour my hair.

What I look for in a hair colour is a great natural looking colour that covers those pesky greys and revitalises my hair leaving it looking healthy and nourished. A big ask I know and since I hadn’t used Clairol Nice’n Easy before, it was with some trepidation that I opened the box. Would it fulfil my exacting expectations? I chose Natural Light Auburn (110), a shade close to my natural hair colour but I’ve been let down by other brands before – looking less red and more Morticia Addams than I’d like. Though revamped, I felt that the packaging looked a bit ho-hum – but looks aren’t everything. Inside, the instructions were clear and the dye easy to mix and apply. The colour when my hair was still wet looked very red but after I dried it off, the hue was a rich light auburn as promised. In natural light too, you can see that the colour has depth and highlights courtesy the colour-blend technology. The ColourSeal Intensive Conditioner was also a stand out. Smelling like coconut it smoothed on easily and left my hair feeling silky and hydrated. The fact that Clairol give you enough of the ColourSeal conditioner to use weekly and to last until your next colour is also impressive – you’re not left on your own as your colour slowly fades away. It’s impossible to know yet if the colour is in fact fade resistant – only time will tell but I’m really happy with the natural rich shade I have at the moment and would definitely recommend it. It ticks all my boxes!

I tested Nice ‘n’easy shade 117 .. i was just a little concerned because it looked quite dark on the packet ,But after applying the dye i amazingly surprised with the effect ,so easy to use and i thought the smell wasnt too bad compared with others i have used in the past .
I am thrilled with the end results , it has covered my just begining to grey and sun damaged areas perfectly and has made me feel better with all the comments i am getting !!!
The Shade for my hair colour was matched perfectly (i am 42) and i will use the product again as it is slightly cheaper than my normal one and easier to manage .
i give Nice’n'Easy 9/10

I usually have my hair coloured by a hairdresser, so it’s been a long time since I’ve used a DIY colour.
I chose the Natural Medium Brown shade #118, which is actually closer to my natural colour than the colour my hair was done with last.
The smell was quite pleasant and not overpowering like some colourants can be, and the product was a great consistency once mixed. There was no dripping, and the product didn’t run down my neck like others tend to.
I kept the colour on my hair for the stated 25 minutes and then rinsed it out and followed with the ColourSeal Intensive Conditioner for a further 2 minutes. I love the fact that Clairol have provided so much conditioner. Most DIY colours only contain enough product for maybe 2 washes, but I believe (on my short hair) the 57mL tube should last me the stated 6 weeks. Great idea Clairol!
Once dried, I could see the subtle lighter difference in my hair colour and the added shine the product gave it. The “3 tone blend” gives my hair a nice natural look and covered the greys with ease.
I would use this product again. Thanks Clairol and Younger You!

This was so easy to use, easy preparation and absolutely no mess. Afterward this my hair looked fantastic, so glossy and shiny. So many people commented asking if I’ve had a hair cut or done something differently, that I look really nice

This was so quick and easy to use I don’t know why I haven’t dyed my hair in the past, I’m only 23 but I will be using this from now on just for the look that it gave my hair, it was so glossy and shiny and the conditioning treatment is fantastic, it’s like liquid gold, I wish you could buy this in a bottle to use anytime.

The packaging looks quite simple and isn’t very eye catching being a white box, but once I looked inside the box, I was very impressed about the contents that are included inside. Firstly you get a real pair of salon style rubber gloves (that are coated in a light powder inside them), and not your standard flimsy plastic pull out gloves you find in some home colour kits. Around the gloves is a very easy to read guide on how to apply the colour in your hair, as well as thorough info like safety and skin test instructions, strand tests (very handy info to let you know how to test strands to see how your hair will react to the colour and how much processing time you’ll need), and useful tips before you start. Also inside, apart from the colour blend formula and activator, there is a large 6 week supply of colour seal intensive conditioner to put in your hair weekly to help keep the colour vibrant, and your hair silky soft.
The first thing I look for in a hair colour is that it will give me 100% grey coverage. I have quite a lot of pesky greys on my sides which make me quite conscious as I like to wear my hair back. I trialled 113 natural burgundy because I love reds! My hair is quite a dark golden sort of brown so the colour wasn’t so noticeable until I stepped out in the sun or a strong light. I found this colour to be a gorgeously rich, but not over the top, beautiful shade of burgundy. My hair is so soft and shiny and bursting with an interplay of reds that reflect anywhere between subtle, to intense, depending on the angle you look at it, as well as the light source.
After applying the colour and then the ColourSeal, my hair is not only soft and shiny, but the pesky greys are very well covered. The areas where I have the most greys blends right into the rest of the hair colour, not distinguishing the area from the rest of my hair. Being the first time I’ve used nice’n easy, I was impressed with not just the coverage and natural looking blends of colour (and I love the burgundy), but also the huge tube of intensive weekly conditioner. I have only had this colour in for under a week, so I don’t know how well the colour will fare after a few weeks, but it is a colourant I will be buying again to redo the roots when they start to grow out so that I can continue to wear this gorgeous colour.

This was the first time I’d ever tried Nice’n Easy and it certainly won’t be the last.
The only thing remotely negative about this product was the smell. It does contain ammonia so was a bit whiffy at first, but in a well-ventilated room you get used to it pretty quickly.
It’s simple to mix and easy to apply. I have medium-length hair and probably could have done with a second bottle, but using a comb I was able to get it to stretch out and cover my hair completely.
I used 114 Natural Light Ash Brown which was perfect – it matched my hair colour exactly whilst covering up all those greys! So my hair looks basically the same, but with more highlights and depth.
I was particularly impressed with how well Nice’n Easy washed out of my hair. The water ran clear in the end, not like some other dyes where colour keeps coming out seemingly forever. The dye also came off my forehead and ears really easily (yep, I’m not the neatest home colourist!). The conditioner smelled divine – I could have eaten it! – and left my hair silky, shiny and soft.
I will definitely be using this again!

I have been colouring my hair for years to cover my grey hairs. I’d been using lighter colours for a long time in the hope that my greys would not be as obvious as they were in my naturally dark hair. Over time my hair had taken on a brassy orange look which I really didn’t like plus my dark regrowth was very obvious.
Clairol suggested 118 for me & I am so thrilled with the results. My hair looks & feels healthy, the colour is not flat & boring, it shimmers & has gorgeous rich tones through it.
Nice & Easy was so simple to use, didn’t smell too bad, didn’t drip & didn’t stain my skin. I left it on for 45 minutes as suggested for resistant greys.
The conditioner is awesome & left my hair feeling amazingly soft.
You really can’t go wrong by choosing Nice & Easy. It’s a great price & gives a great result.

Currently I am not at the stage that I need to cover greys but I know the brand is good so I wanted to use it.
I would say that having long hair I would really need to boxes next time but I made it work this time.
I always prefer to dye my hair myself as its cheaper and just as good results.
It was as the name states Nice and Easy to do and I love the after conditioning treatment as it always makes my hair so soft and shiny but this one gave you quite a lot of supply of conditioner.
I loved the colour and would definately buy again or in the future when I go grey!

Thankyou again Younger You for the opportunity to trial a product. I trialled the Clairol Nice & Easy Permanent Colour in shade #113 which is Natural Burgundy. The colour was perfect for my hair and something I would’ve chosen myself.
The packaging is OK, nothing spectacular, the colours are a tad boring and mine arrived to me with one side crushed in (bloody posties). In the box was 1x colour, 1x applicator bottle, 1x conditioner, 1x gloves, 1x instructions.
I would buy this brand again just for the gloves. They are perfect. A great length, a great fit and don’t slip as much as others. They feel really comfortable. I do not like the gloves that come in other well known brands of hair colouring. I loved the colour, it was easy to apply, not too strong smelling, like some. It wasn’t messy to apply. My hair is past half way down my back and curly, frizzy, so I need to dampen my hair down before applying the colour so I can get it through all of my hair. I left it on for 30 minutes and I would buy a second colour if I was doing this again so I could get a better coverage. The conditioner in this pack is awesome. I have used so many different conditioners on my hair and there’s not much that works but this is packed full of moisture, I could run the comb through it easily with the conditioner in. The conditioner in the pack lasts for a handy 3 weeks and I was happy to read on the box lid that the exact conditioner is now for sale in a large size, I will definately invest in that. I did like the final result as it looked like I had streaks through my hair. Where my greys were had turned a beautiful burgundy, while the remainder went a dark brown with subtle hints of red.
I loved the colour and the brand and would definately use again and would recommend it to everybody.

I have been dying my hair since I was 15, I’m now 28 so you could imagine what a lot of hair dye would do to my once luscious locks. I must admit I have never given Nice & Easy hair dye a go, not because I think it’s a bad product I just have always stuck to L’Oreal. Nice & Easy was good it made my hair feel soft and the after use conditioner made my hair look shiny and glossy for over a week. There is no excusing the smell of hair dye as it has lots of chemicals but the smell of Nice & Easy really wasn’t’ bad at all. My hair is long and thick so I did have to go buy another packet but the product had full coverage over my hair. The packaging is easy just the same as other hair dye products and it is reasonably priced. I think Nice & Easy has poached me from L’Oreal because I will be absolutely be using their products again when I want to change hair colours.

I have never really coloured my hair by myself and at a stage I had sworn off home kits after a shocking experience with pink hair. However! When Younger You picked me to trial Nice & Easy hair colour I thought why not take on a challenge. Let me tell you I’m glad I did because I will no longer have to spend ridiculous amounts of money at the hairdresser. I never realised how good at home kits are they give you all the instructions and the colour turned out perfect in my hair. My hair is short so I am lucky I only had to use one packet however if my hair was any longer I would most certainly need another packet. The smell wasn’t the best but what can you expect with hair dye. The price was customary just like the other brands. My hair looked so glossy and hygienic and the conditioner that was provided with the dye made my hair the softest it’s been in a long time. I will undeniably be adding this product to my shopping list next time I want to colour my hair. Thank you Younger You and Nice & Easy you have saved me a MOTZA!

The name says it all “Nice & Easy”. I would like to say first thanks Younger You for allowing me to be included in your test team and thank you Nice & Easy for making my hair look so dam good! My first impression of the product was colour blend hmm will this new formula really show me results? It certainly proved me wrong because my hair looked as if I had just been to one of Joh Baileys fabulous salons. I have never dyed my hair myself and now I must say I will be crossing over to the “DIY” Team. My hair looked so shiny and healthy and the colour was so vibrant. The smell wasn’t too strong I know its hard to escape from the smell of hair dye but I could handle Nice & Easy. The only negative comment I have to make is the packaging white is a bit plain and boring it wouldn’t stand out to me on a shelf in the shops. Other than that I was most happy with this product well done Nice & Easy.
