‘Tis The Season to be Pampered

Posted: Monday 28 November 2011 09:56am

Late nights at Christmas parties, early mornings in the office, manic present buying lunchbreaks, it’s almost enough to make us throw in the beach towel. We’ve decided a good pampering session is in order. There’s nothing no need to dream up a convoluted excuse to take advantage of these pampering indulgences.  Ditch the guilt and get ready to be transported to a place where relaxing is the way of life.

HAVE A LONG, HOT BATH
There was a time not so long ago when we all used to have a bath every couple of weeks. Wine in hand, Discman spinning, but something has changed and few of us take the time to truly switch off and relax in the bathtub anymore. Let’s change this and bring back the bath. Unwind by chocking the bath full of bubbles (these are just for aesthetics, but aren’t they fun) and add in a few drops of lavender oil to aid your relaxation and help you sleep. The temperature should be nice and warm (to relieve aching muscles) but not too hot. Light some candles to take the experience to a home day spa level and let the pampering power of the bath work its magic.

SPLURGE ON THAT MAGAZINE
You know the one, it costs more than you care to admit. Each time you stare at the magazine rack it’s the one you really want to buy, but the purse strings pull your hand back to the weeklies. Cut those strings on this occasion and buy whatever magazine your heart desires. Make yourself a cup of tea, turn the phone off (or put it on silent) and lose yourself in the pages of your favourite glossy magazine.

TAKE A TRIP TO THE DAY SPA
There are few experiences like that you can have at day spa. We love to create a home day spa, but for the real deal you simply must have a treatment at a luxurious spa. A day spa menu will offer a range of treatments, including massage, body scrub, body polish and facial all performed by professionals in an environment perfectly cultivated to encourage relaxation and healing. If you want to get the true experience of a relaxing day spa then The Spa at The Darling is the one for you. The menu reads like a ‘must-have’ of indulgence including a range of treatments from indigenous origins. It will leave you walking on air for hours afterwards.

Your say: How do you pamper yourself? Do you find yourself running around like a mad person during the Christmas season? How do you make time to get everything done? Share your tips below.
