One Month To Younger Hair

Whether 25 or 65, we’re all prone to hair that looks, well, old. Why? The health and appearance of your crowning glory – indeed, its physical v biological age – can be affected by chemical treatments like colouring, perming and straightening, mechanical abuse with daily heated styling or over-zealous brushing, teasing or combing.
The irony here is that a woman of 65 may have younger, healthier hair than one of 25, simply because she has carefully maintained her hair health and been more diligent in its care.
Ageing hair is often related to how it is cared for, so if your locks are looking a little less than lush and youthful, it could be time to make some changes to your hair care regime.
“Like skin, the health and quality of your hair changes over time,” says Pantene Clinicare trichologist Tony Pearce. “This may be due to a combination of life’s stresses, as well as the body’s individual ageing process. Just like your skin, you need to use products which address the needs of ageing hair.”
Look for gentle products rich in antioxidants, which will not only nurture hair and gently bring it back to optimal health, but will protect it from external aggressors, too. Use a range of products that will work synergistically, to bring hair back to its most beautiful. You should find that when used repeatedly and frequently over the course of one month, that your hair regains its lustre and youthful manageability.
Pantene Clinicare Ritual is a simple-to-follow indulgence that relies on this philosophy: a Micro-Repair Revitalising Collection to rejuvenate chemically stressed and damaged hair and restore its radiance and resilience and an Ultimate Repair Blend Formula, which infuses the hair fibre with active, shine-enhancing ingredients – Pantene’s Pro-V, three amino acids and vitamin E – that penetrate the hair shaft, strengthening against further ageing.
The ritual begins with Micro-repair Revitalising Shampoo, RRP $14.99, which addresses accumulated damage to hair as it gently cleanses dirt and debris. Following this, Micro-repair Conditioner, $14.99, nourishes and protects against further damage.
The final and most indulgent step is the weekly Micro-repair Revitalising Rinse Off Treatment, $19.99. Its rich formula drenches hair with conditioning ingredients to restore shine, moisture and manageability.
Hint: Wrap hair in plastic wrap and a warm towel – the heat generated will better enable its ingredients to penetrate the hair shaft.
